our story
Knottingley Velo Cycling Club (KVCC) is British Cycling Affiliated and was formed in 2014 with the simple aim of enjoying riding your bike. We are an inclusive club and have grown to become one of the largest in the region. We cater for a wide range of rides, abilities and cycling disciplines. Our core rides are group road rides, but we also have gravel, cyclocross and mountain bike rides. We have everything from entry level group riding to competitive racing.
Regular club rides
Club rides are the mainstay of the club, with various social and training rides throughout the week. Our rides are graded so you can find one to suit your pace. No one gets left behind! We also encourage members to post rides, so keep an eye out for those on the social platforms for details.
Organised trips
As well as regular group rides in the local area, we have also taken trips to Mallorca, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, along with mountain biking weekends in the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors plus regular velodrome visits.
Local events and sportives
We are also a main supporter of the annual Prince of Wales Cyclothon and support other sportives in the region such as the Selby Three Swans, The Flat 100 and the Great Yorkshire Bike ride. Teams have also represented KVCC at the Prudential Ride London.
10th Anniversary 2014 - 2024
2024 marks our 10-year anniversary, a journey that’s been fuelled by camaraderie, determination, and the love for two wheels. Our club has become a cornerstone of the local cycling community, weaving friendships as strong as our carbon frames. To mark this milestone we have partnered with Cromar Building products and Carlile Financial Ltd who have kindly sponsored our 'KVCC Anniversary Jersey' to mark this special occasion.
